I am delighted to welcome you to the official website of the Metropolitan Area of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of Ireland. The website provides information to members and visitors on Freemasonry in the Dublin Metropolitan Area.

The Metropolitan Board support the Lodges and Brethren in the Metropolitan Area and works closely with them to promote Freemasonry and to provide a sustainable organisation for the future.

The 35 Lodges of the Metropolitan area are unique in having no Provincial Grand Lodge structure and are under the direct jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Ireland. The Metropolitan Board of General Purposes, while having no Ritual or Ceremonial function, exercises many administrative functions in a similar manner to Provincial Grand Lodges.
